Privacy
Quazar Read is the website for the Quazar magazine. Here is what it keeps, and why.
Your account
You sign in with an email and password, or with Google. The sign-in is run by Amazon Web Services for Quazar. We use your email only to sign you in. We don't send newsletters or adverts.
What we keep
The name you choose (if any), which magazine you read, your answers to the puzzles, and any photos of your working you add. A computer reads a photo to write a few words about your working; it never marks you on it. Photos are deleted after a year.
Reading online
When you read an issue online we check that your subscription includes it. We don't record which pages you read.
QR codes
When a code is scanned we count it, so we know which pages readers use. We don't keep your IP address or your phone's details: only the kind of device and a code that changes every day.
Subscriptions
When you subscribe we keep what we need to post the magazine: the reader's name, the address and phone number for the courier, the edition, the subjects the reader picks for what they love (so we can shape their copy), and for a copy bought for someone else the giver's name and message and the email it goes to, so it shows up on their sign-in when they sign in with it. Payments are handled by Razorpay. Your card, bank and UPI details go to Razorpay, never to us; we keep only the payment's reference and amount.
Schools form
The For schools form sends what you type to the Quazar team so we can reply. We don't keep it on this site or add you to any list.
Deleting your data
Tap "Delete my Quazar Read data" on Account, in the menu under your initial. To close your sign-in completely, write to us at support@quazar.school. Subscriptions you paid for keep their address and payment records, because we still post the issues and the law asks us to keep records of payments; they are no longer linked to your account.
